In my opinion, the political situation in Thailand will never be resolved
By looking at the past and current political situations in Thailand, in my opinion it will never be resolved. No matter which party takes over, problems will linger and accusations will be plenty. What makes Chamlong think that if his PAD party takes over as ruling party there won't be any problems? I bet that things will come back to square one. Do you think those who are pro-Thaksin and pro-PPP will just keep quiet? Of course not. It is like tit-for-tat. I am very concerned because Bangkok is where I would like to start my business but my friends have advised me not to proceed. Many foreign businessmen are also losing interest and trust in doing business in Thailand. I understand from sources that many companies are ready to pack and go. I am sure there are better opportunities elsewhere, eg. Vietnam, Dubai, India, China, Singapore and so-forth. No offend to the Thai people but I feel that you guys have to come to an amicable solution. There is no two-way about it. Either you give and take or let this political problems linger daily. The choice is yours. I can see that the oppositions are not giving the ruling party a chance to put the economy back on the right track. Barely two months, they already want to see results. How could that be possible? Thailand is a big country with a huge population of millions of people. Even the best leader won't be able to do just that. A year is fair. Time is really needed to heal this country. But can the oppositions be compassionate? I doubt. They seem to change tunes very quickly and the whole political stage is more like a child's play. It also seems to me that freedom of speech has its consequences. I cannot believe that even with a court order to remove the stage erected for the street protests, Chamlong is still very defiant. This only shows that he doesn't care about the law and order. So do you think he and his party is fit to run the country? The government is also worried that if they put more pressure on them, the whole country will get into an even more chaotic situation. So what does this tell you? It only goes to show that every opposition in the country knows this is the weak point of any government. If that is the case, law and order will never be maintained and people are not scared of the government at all. Having said that, I don't understand why these politicians are so desperate to take over power? It is not an easy task and definitely there is something somewhere that makes them so power-hungry. We can only guess. But one thing's for sure, if the opposition should take over power one day, they don't need to dream of having a smooth transition because they'll share the same fate as the PPP. My best bet would be another coup is inevitable although the army chief has brushed off such speculation. During Thaksin's era, they said the same thing too but the tune was changed so quickly and it happened. I am sure history is going to repeat itself. Let's see.
